Popis: 181 was an increase in their behavior which showed independence. The education of mothers proved to be fruitful in the positive improvement of their attitude and behavior for the feridency of dependence of their children. 5. It was seen that there was no significant change in the attitude and behavior of the mothers in the control group after they were applied the variable ECLMC. 6. It was also seen that there was not an important change between the pre-test and final test frequencies in the behavior of the mothers in the control group towards the tendency of dependence of their children.180 pre-test, and after the education as the final test. Again, in order to measure the attitude and behavior of the children related to their tendency of dependence in a room not their own,'`BFOTD` was applied as the pre-test and the final test. The program of ECLMC was specially designed for this study. The sub-parameters of the `PSBEP` which was applied to the experimental and control groups were tested one by one by the average points of the pre-test and the final test. The pre-test and final test observation frequency of `BFOTD` was tested by the Chi square. The importance level of the difference between the pre and final tests was accepted as.05 and statistical procedures were carried out on the computer. The Findings are Summarized below: 1. Before the `Education of Communication Language between Mother and Child`, there was no significant difference between the attitude and behavior of the mothers in experimental and control groups towards their children. 2. After the application of the ECLMC variable, there happened an increase of interest, love and tenderness; feeling for helping others and sound discipline in the attitude of experimental group of mothers. On the other hand, there was a decrease in the feeling of protection, physical punishment, oppression for success, deprivation from priviledges and the behavior for emotional punishment. The education of mothers helped them develop positive volues in their attitude and behavior towards their children. 3. By the variable ECLMC, it was found that there was no change in the attitude and behavior of the experimental and control groups of mothers in the tendency of dependence of their children before the application. 4. After the application of the variable ECLMC, it was found that there was a decrease of dependency (at the higher, middle and lower levels) in the attitude and behavior of the mothers in the experimental group. On the other hand, there The Effects of the Communication Language on the Dependent Behavior of the Children of 4-5 Age Group. SUMMARY in this study, the variable, `Education of Communication Language between Mother and Child` (ECLMC) and its effects on the experimental group of mothers and their attitude and behavior tovvards their children and the effects of such attitude and behavior on the tendency of dependence of their children is examined in detail. The independent variable is `Education of Communication Language between Mother and Child` and the dependent variables are the mot her's attitude and behavior towards their children and the children's behavior towards the tendency of dependence. The experimental group of children consists of pupils of 4-5 age-group who went to the Nursery School of the Faculty of Vocational Education, University of Selçuk, in 1995-1996 and their mothers. These thirty children and their mothers were randomly selected and they were again randomly divided into two groups: 15 f ör the experimental and 15 f ör the control groups. This study is a real experimental model and vvas conducted in an experimental scale with pre-test, final test and control group. The attitude and behavior of mothers towards their children was measured by `Parents' Şelf Behavior Evaluation Parameter` (PSBEP) developed for this purpose; and the behavior of the children related to their tendency of dependence was measured by the `Behavioral Form of Observed Tendency for Dependence` (BFOTD) which was also developed for this study. in order to measure the attitude and behavior of the mothers in the experimental and control groups towards their children, `PSBEP` was applied before `ECLMC` as the 179180 pre-test, and after the education as the final test. Again, in order to measure the attitude and behavior of the children related to their tendency of dependence in a room not their o^n/`BFOTD` was applied as the pre-test and the final test. The program of ECLMC was specially designed for this study. The sub-parameters of the `PSBEP` which was applied to the experimental and control groups were tested öne by öne by the average points of the pre-test and the final test. The pre-test and final test observation frequency of `BFOTD` was tested by the Chi square. The importance level of the difference between the pre and final tests was accepted as.05 and statistical procedures were carried out on the computer. The Findings are Summarized below: 1.Before the `Education of Communication Language between Mother and Child`, there was no signifıcant difference between the attitude and behavior of the mothers in experimental and control groups towards their children. 2.After tke application of the ECLMC variable, there happened an increase of interest, love and tenderness; feeling for helping others and sound discipline in the attitude of experimental group of mothers. On the other hand, there was a decrease in the feeling of protection, physical punishment, oppression for success, deprivation from priviledges and the behavior for emotional punishment. The education of mothers helped them develop positive volues in their attitude and behavior towards their children. 3.By the variable ECLMC, it was found that there was no change in the attitude and behavior of the experimental and control groups of mothers in the tendency of dependence of their children before the application. 4.After the application of the variable ECLMC, it was found that there was a decrease of dependency (at the higher, middle and lower levels) in the attitude and behavior of the mothers in the experimental group. On the other hand, there181 was an increase in their behavior which showed independence. The education of mothers proved to be fruitful in the positive improvement of their attitude and behavior for the feridency of dependence of their children. 5. It was seen that there was no significant change in the attitude and behavior of the mothers in the control group after they were applied the variable ECLMC. 6. It was also seen that there was not an important change between the pre-test and final test frequencies in the behavior of the mothers in the control group towards the tendency of dependence of their children. 267
