Cardiovascular morbidity and mortality are one of the major health problems worldwide. There is scientific evidence that cardiovascular diseases are associated with poorer quality of life. Patients’ attitudes towards their illness are linked to how patients seek to manage their disease and to influence the future course of the disease. Because of these reasons, there is a need to examine these links. Research objective. To analyze the connection between illness perception and health-related quality of life in patients with cardiovascular diseases. Research methodology. A quantitative study was conducted. The following instruments were used: The Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire (copyrights held by Elizabeth Broadbent) and The MacNew Heart Disease Health-Related Quality of Life Instrument (copyrights held by Stefan Höfer, Neil Oldrige). Study sample – 372 patients. The SPSS 23.0.0 for Windows software package was used for descriptive data analysis. The study was conducted in accordance with ethical principles. Research results.
