In areas as statistics, signal processing, econometrics and mathematical finance the techniques of time series are used to find cyclicality and to predict future values. Time series is a sequence of data points, typically measured in successive time points located at unified time intervals. In the paper it is proposed to apply this approach to the analysis of the quality of a random number generation (RNG) system for ensuring the cryptographic protection in information systems. For our research, we will provide a numerical string to be able to analyze the time series output from random values. The received results are converted from CSV data into a two-dimensional array and depicted in a graphical plot. The provided analysis can help to avoid a prerequisite to attack this random number generator by predicting the next value. |
