The Nesebar Depression is a graben located between Emine and Aytos Mountains. Within the area of this graben the modern valley of the Hadzhiyska river is located. Within the valley, there are several positive landforms with probable Holocene or Pleistocene age. On the basis of fieldworks and macroscopic (morphoscopic) analysis of loose fragments (granules, pebbles, cobbles), a step was taken to resolve the issue of the genesis of hills. The initial conclusion is that they are fragments of alluvial-proluvial fans but probably do not have a single genesis, necessitating more accurate future geomorphological investigations of the area. |
