Objectives: Investigation of the effects of decompression method with removable acrylic apparatus in the treatment of odontogenic keratocysts is aimed. Materials and Methods: Odontogenic keratocycts of 10 patients who have radiolucency in X ray larger than 3 centimeters are included in the study. Diagnoses are ensured with histopathological evaluation. Patients are treated with decompression method with use of removable individual acrylic apparatus. Odontogenic cysts are enucleated when their diameters are reduced to 1 centimeter. Results: Intra and post-operative periods of all patients were out of problem. No recurrence was observed in examinations in 1 to 3 years. Conclusions: Treatment of odontogenic keratocysts with use of indiviual removable acrylic apparatus were achieved without need of major surgery and any complications. |
