Popis: U Arhivu Srpske pravoslavne crkvene opštine šidske nalazi se relativno brojna dokumentarna građa vezana za šidske Jevreje i jevrejsku zajednicu. U pitanju su dokumenti nastali kao posledica saradnje Srpske pravoslavne crkvene opštine šidske i Izraelske bogoštovne opštine u Šidu, jevrejskih preduzeća i Jevreja pojedinaca. Jevreji se pominju i u crkvenim administrativnim knjigama i u spisima. Građa obuhvata period od 1821. do 1925. godine. The archive of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Šid holds numerous documents related to the Jewish community in Šid. These are documents that originated from the cooperation between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Jewish community. Some documents were also provided by Jewish companies and shops as well as some Jewish people. These administrative books and documents cover the period from 1821 to 1925. Most of the documents are bills from Jewish shops and warehouses whose services and goods were used by the church. In addition, as per the available documents, the Jewish community rented a house owned by the Serbian Orthodox Church for almost fifty years. This house was used as a Synagogue. Many documents also indicate that Jewish companies and individuals were renters of some other church properties. In addition to this official relationship, some documents also indicate the existence of an extremely friendly relationship between the two confessions, such as participation of the Jews in the organization of parochial Serbian fest, etc. The documents from the archives of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Šid related to Jewish people and their community in Šid are of immense significance for studying not only the history of the Jewish community but also the inter-ethnic and inter-religious relations in the multiethnic Šid.
