Popis: One of the most important variables which plays roles in shaping communities, education is of significant value both in universal an in national perspectives. Education is the process in which to deliberately create a desirable change in an individual's behaviors through his own edžperieŶĐes ;Ertürk, ϭϵϳϮ p ϭϮͿ. As for education of textile designing, however it is obvious that the main purpose of textile designing or textile and fashion designing departments in Fine Arts Faculties with four year curriculum which train designers and those in vocational colleges with two year curriculum aimed to prepare intermediary technicians to be employed by the related businesses is to develop visual perception and creative power of students. Candidates for textile designing are educated and trained in a way to adjust their skills and creative thinking to textile sector when they try to realize their own designings in the above - said departments, general aim of which is to keep in line with development and technology of textile business while using creative power based on form and functionality. Therefore, using CAD textile designing programs is known to be of great importance for students to be educated/trained in institutions with curriculum on textile designing as potential qualified employees sought by the related textile business. Contribution of computer technology to textile designing education is of great importance from the phase of creation to the output processes. However, CAD programs in education of textile designing allow students to gain time, determine parameters to be used in newly - designed fabrics or printed cloths and decrease error risks. Employment of specifically formed designings in programs of simulatable textile or printed fabrics enables students to gain awareness and is thus important in developing their designing skills. It is educational institutions which are responsible for the fact that cultures should be transferred, developments in science, technology and designing be maintained and pursued and qualified employees be educated and trained for related sectoral corporations and institutions. Educational institutions of such nature as to transfer and produce knowledge should follow all related developments and be renovated accordingly. Otherwise, they would be inevitably in the fate of failing to meet requirements of the current age, remaining unneeded and obscures, being unupdated and dysfunctioning. The main purpose of the present study is to assess the position of CAD programs in relationship with designing, output and knowledge through education process using them in textile designing education/training.
