Hijerarhijska regresijska analiza pokazuje kako rod, dob, duljina trajanja veze, djeca, privrženost (anksioznost, izbjegavanje) i percipirana partnerova responzivnost značajno doprinose objašnjenju varijance svake taktike posebno, dok je zadovoljstvo vezom svoj značajan samostalni doprinos pokazalo jedino u objašnjenju varijance indirektnih taktika prisile. The aim of this paper was to examine gender differences in the use of emotional manipulation tactics and their relationship with attachment (anxiety, avoidance), perceived partner responsiveness and relationship satisfaction. An online survey was conducted on a sample of 297 men and 544 women aged 18 to 40 who have been in a relationship for at least six months. Participants completed the Modified manipulation tactics scale (Opat, 2017), Modified Inventory of Experiences in Close Relationships (Kamenov and Jelić, 2003), Perceived Partner Responsiveness Scale (Reis and Carmichael, 2006) and questions about sociodemographic data and characteristics of romantic relationships. The results show that women are more inclined to use direct tactics, and men are more inclined to use indirect humuring tactics, while men and women equally use indirect coercion tactics and all manipulation tactics in general. It was found that individuals high on anxious attachment use all three manipulation tactics more, while individuals high on avoidant attachmen use indirect coercion and humuring tactics more. Also, individuals who achieve a lower result on the questionnaire of perceived partner responsiveness and report lower satisfaction with the relationship will use indirect coercion and humuring tactics, while a statistically significant difference with direct tactics was not established. Hierarchical regression analysis shows that gender, age, length of relationship, children, attachment (anxiety, avoidance) and perceived partner's responsiveness significantly contribute to explaining the variance of each tactic separately, while relationship satisfaction is significant showed an independent contribution only in explaining the variance of indirect coercion tactics.
