Magneto-optical properties of ferromagnetic thin films under saturated magnetization conditions

Popis: Vector-magneto-optical generalized ellipsometry (VMOGE) allows to perform generalized Mueller matrix ellipsometry in a magnetic field of arbitrary orientation and magnitude up to 0.4 T at room temperature. We measured the magneto-optical properties of Fe, Co, and Ni thin films on ZnO substrates and extracted the wavelength dependent magneto-optical dielectric tensor together with the coupling constant Q under saturation magnetization conditions via model analysis. We converted our magneto-optical dielectric tensor of Fe, Co, and Ni into the optical conductivity tensor and the results agreed well with the literature experimental values.
