Source: https://erdc-library.erdc.dren.mil/jspui/ This report provides basic data and summaries for the measurements made during 1984 at the US Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station (WES) Coastal Engineering Research Center's (CERC's) Field Research Facility (FRF) in Duck, N.C. The report includes comparisons of the present year's data to prior years and cumulative statistics from 1980 to the present. Summarized in this report are meteorological and oceanographic data, monthly bathymetric survey results, samples of quarterly aerial photography, and descriptions and hourly data for 14 storms that occurred during the year. Wave conditions were slightly lower than average with the fewest storms since 1980. The year was highlighted by the close passage of hurricanes Isidore in September and Josephine in October. This report is the sixth in a series of annual summaries of data collected at the FRF. Data collected from 1977-1979 were publi shed as CERC Technical Report 82-16; data from 1980 to 1983 were published as CERC Technical Reports 84-1, 85-3, 86-5, and 86-9, respectively.
