Six Sigma). This paper describes the optimisation of the PCS-MHS system, with the goal to increase the flow of materials through the system in order to ensure that the capacity of the system would be sufficient for the expected production volume in the future. With the expected increase in the production volume, a need appeared for the revision of the current business process – the business process which occurs daily and is a part of the work tasks that are within my work place. The business process described includes the delivery of the required raw materials into the production facilities (weighing facilities), where the raw materials are weighed for the production of a certain kind of items for medicinal purposes (syrup, pills, dragées …). This process is guided by and controlled through multiple linked automatic systems which are united under the name of PCS-MHS (Proces Control System-Material Handling System). All activities connected with the optimisation of the described process were conducted by using the Six Sigma method. |
