Nosemosis is one of the most significant bee diseases that commonly spreads through invaded feeders, frames and unskilled handling of the beekeepers. This disease is caused by two types of parasites, Nosema apis and Nosema ceranae. The goal of this research was to determine the presence of the Nosema spores in worker bees and queen bees from the mating nucs which have produced first, second and third generation of queens. In total 45 samples were collected, 15 from each generation. The worker bees from the 3rd generation had the most spores, while the 2nd generation bees had the fewest number. The queen bees where less affected and the difference between the groups was no significant. More in depth research is required to determine the disease transmission rate in small hives like mating nucs.
