A research has been conducted in the vineyard which is a part of family farm Miholić and situated at Ćosinac, Kutjevo vineyards, on the third of March 2012 after the winter frost and extremely cold temperatures on the four cultivars of grapevine - Riesling, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zweigelt. The purpose of this experiment was to determine the survival rate of primary vegetative axis after extremely low temperatures in February 2012. Four cultivars have been choosen and 10 tree vines from each (in total 40 vines) randomly. From each tree vine a sprout with 10 buds was taken (400 buds in total) and then every bud was cut by a razor to determine the degree of survival. Data processing and analysis of variance, we found that these differences were not statistically significant. It can be concluded that all four tested cultivars reacted similarly to the emergence of extreme low temperatures during February 2012.
