Popis: Circular saw blades, with carbide or diamond inserts, allow a precise and efficient manufacturing of wood products starting from solid wood or laminate panels. Several types of wood working machines uses circular saw blades, representing a valid solution in a large variety of industrial applications. With their simple and robust geometry, these tools permit fast and efficient cuts improving the process competiveness. Nevertheless, their basic parameters have to be defined with an extreme care. An incorrect tool design leads to unpredictable conditions during the process with impact on fundamental aspects of manufacturing and equipment. This investigation intends to collect the most relevant information available on the effect on manufacturing of the tool design parameters and main process parameters in the case of wood materials and circular saw blades with reinforced tips. Without demanding completeness, it aims at offering a basic frameworks of formula and practical rules for better understanding the criteria used in the selection of the most appropriate tools for each specific manufacturing condition.
