The articles presented have been developed in the framework of the Specialisation Course in International Cooperation and Sustainable Development of Agricultural, Environmental and Rural Systems. All of the contributions are related to the main topics developed within the Course with the purpose to offer added support, during and after, to the participants. The work is divided into three parts, which reflect the course’s inter-disciplinary structure. The first part of the work would give a general overview on agriculture and sustainable development at the international level, and also places focus on the international organization’s role. The second part aims to present some “tools in order to achieve sustainable development” based on different approaches and on different perspectives, ranging from social to more technical viewpoint. The third part intends to give an overview of two different research approaches, the agrarian system analysis – diagnosis and the Cropping System Simulator (CSS), an open simulation source model for agro-ecosystem analysis. |
