Popis: This study presents the criteria followed for the edition of the Alfabeto italiano castellano (1793), title with which we identify the part corresponding to the Italian language in volume IV of the Diccionario Castellano (1786-1793), by E. Terreros and Pando, which is entitled Los tres alfabetos franceses, latino é italiano con las voces de ciencias y artes que les corresponden en la lengua castellana. According to Terreros the T. IV would derive from the compilation of the equivalents (French, Italian and Latin) that he was giving to the Castilian words in his Diccionario Castellano, but the circumstances in which he took to the edition and in which Terreros himself, could not participate, they resulted in a text with numerous anomalies due mainly to the irregular application of the lexicographic technique. The criteria of the edition presented are based on the digitization of the text and a study of the characteristics of the work from which the respect for the orthographic and punctuation status, and the regulation of all typographical questions, with the restoration of alphabetical order. In this way, the lexicographic tradition of Spanish with Italian is presented with a piece that, given the relevance of its author and the text from which it derives, has not received the attention it deserves in the linguistic relations between the two languages.
