The increasing interest towards the geological and geomorphological heritage is confirmed by the establishment of many scientific associations and research groups, both at national and international level, dedicated to the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of geosites and geomorphosites and their conceptual definition. The long and complex geological history of Sardinia gives the researchers the opportunity to apply and develop, from a practical and conceptual point of view, the many workframes developed by the different working groups. This paper resumes an application of these models in Supramonte (Central East Sardinia), connecting the natural heritage with the many cultural aspects, in order to create an ecosustainable network of itineraries able to let people discover the area, understanding its past, the local cultures, the value of the landscape and the interaction of Man with this fragile environment. |
