Popis: Unijunior is an innovative educational project aimed at young people from 8 to 14 years old, independent from institutional school training. Some Italian universities collaborate to this project and among them the University of Bologna with its Interpretation and Translation Department. Its aim is stimulating, in a playful and funny context, the learning of complex subjects; hence the professors who decide to teach these "master" classes present the main contents and the purposes of their courses playing with their young students, interacting with the monitors of the homonymous association, vitalizing content and ironizing about their own academic role. The translation of children's and young adult literature has recently entered into the Unijunior didactic proposal. On the first occasion, it began covering the complex world of multilingualism and translation in several areas, including audiovisual translation, with examples from various cartoons, both dubbed and subtitled. In the second, the class focused on some translation challenges concerning children's and young people's literature, such as forenames, idiomatic forms and culture-specific items or problems deriving from visual links. In this contribution the two didactic proposals will be presented with some examples from books, picture-books and cartoons.
