The article presents the state of research as well as the research perspectives with reference to the research sources in reading culture in terms of the past and the present. It determines the reading culture definition taking the individuals and the society into consideration. It shows the components of reading culture and corresponding sources – widely understood the reception documents – provenance marks, autobiographical materials, literature and art, subscriber lists, notarial files, inventories, catalogs, documentation of educational institutions, press, directives and instructions. There have been revealed the dependencies between “the old” and “the new” sources, pointing the detailed areas of scientific researches. |
