This chapter and chapter 6 are a diptych on the general topic “Imaginary and Communication.” The intention is to follow the main stages in the relations between the collective imaginary and the means of expression and communication, working on the scenario of the ancient world, the Middle Ages, and early modernity (up to the French Revolution) and on the mass communications scenario up to the present day. The biblio- graphic references of both chapters are published at the end of chapter 6. |
