Tumor is the most common cause of bladder disease and unfortunately has a tendency to increase. Diagnostics and the course of treatment depend on the patient himself, his psychological preparation for the fight and what follows him. External factors that cause bladder tumors are already known: smoking, inadequate nutrition, poor physical activity, and these factors can be influenced preventively. Known internal factors are: genetic mutations, hormonal disorders, immune disorders. Bladder tumors are treated with surgery, followed by radiation, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and medications. It affects the male population more often, and the average age of patients is 65 years. The first symptom with which patients most often appear is the appearance of blood in the urine, and the diagnosis is made on the basis of cytological examination of urine, infusion urography and cystography, and cystoscopy. Treatment is radical and it is necessary to approach patients through the sphere of empathy. When dealing with such patients, the nurse must also use a holistic approach in order to make the new situation as easy as possible and help them accept the disease and the stages of treatment. |
