EFFECTS OF LOADING AND WEARING POLICE EQUIPMENT ON CHANGES IN PLANTAR PRESSURE OF POLICE OFFICERS

Popis: Nošenje policijske opreme je neizbježan dio svakog radnog dana policijskih službenika. Cilj ovoga rada bio je utvrditi postoji li razlika u plantarnom pritisku policijskih službenika sa obaveznom policijskom opremom i bez opreme. Uzorak ispitanika sastojao se od 275 ispitanika (n=186) i ispitanica (n=89) Hrvatske policijske akademije koji su bili testirani na tlačnoj platformi sustava Zebris FDM. Testiranje se provodilo 15 sekundi u mirnom stajanju s opterećenjem osnovne policijske opreme (3.5 kg) i 15 sekundi bez takve opreme. U rezultatima se vidi da razlika između dva navedena uvjeta nije statistički značajna tj. da opterećenje od 3.5 kg nije dovoljno veliko da izazove promjene u plantarnom pritisku na pojedine regije stopala. Takvi rezultati sugeriraju da su se policijski službenici kroz treninge koje odrađuju na policijskoj akademiji navikli na takvu vrstu opterećenja te da im ona ne izaziva disbalanse. Wearing police equipment is an inevitable part of every working day for police officers. The aim of this work was to determine if there is a difference in the plantar pressure of police officers with and without mandatory police equipment. The sample of subjects consisted of 275 subjects (n=186) and subjects (n=89) of the Croatian Police Academy who were tested on the pressure platform of the Zebris FDM system. Testing was carried out for 15 seconds while standing still with the load of basic police equipment (3.5 kg) and 15 seconds without such equipment. The results show that the difference between the two mentioned conditions is not statistically significant, i.e. that the load of 3.5 kg is not large enough to cause a change in plantar pressure on certain regions of the foot. Such results suggest that through the training they do at the police academy, police officers have become accustomed to this type of workload and that it does not cause them an imbalance.
