Budući da većina političarki odbija stereotipe i da im se svejedno nastavljaju postavljati takva pitanja, u ovom konkretnom slučaju možemo zaključiti da političarke ne sudjeluju u kreaciji rodnih stereotipa na način na koji to čine mediji With the use of directed qualitative analysis of interviews with female politicians in news portals published between 2015 and 2021, we aim to answer several questions. First, is to see to what extent we can talk about stereotyping female politicians during this period and whether we can see a shift away from stereotypical reporting from previous similar research. On the other hand, some authors believe that female politicians themselves participate to some extent in the creation of gender stereotypes in the media, which is explained by the ideology of the parties to which they belong. Therefore, the analysis also considered the responses of female politicians to stereotypical questions. The analysis showed that we can still, at least in this limited sample, talk about gender stereotyping of female politicians in the media, with a few exceptions to previous research. It turned out that female politicians do not participate in the creation of stereotyping since they mostly reject stereotypes, while those few politicians who accept them belong to parties with conservative and traditional ideology. Since most female politicians reject stereotypes and journalist continue to ask such questions anyway, in this case, we can conclude that female politicians do not participate in the creation of gender stereotypes in the way that the media does. |
