Differences in the intercultural sensitivity of teacher studies students regarding the use of leisure time

Popis: Slobodno vrijeme odnosi se na vrijeme koje pojedincu preostaje nakon primarnih obaveza i ga provodi na zdrav način u skladu s njegovim intersima. Kako bi budući učitelji ostvarili kvalitetne odnose sa učenicima ili drugim osobama koje karakterizira druga kultura važno je razviti interkulturalne kompetencije. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je ispitati razinu razvijenosti interkulturalne osjetljivosti studenata učiteljskih studija u Republici Hrvatskoj, odnosno postojanje razlika u razvijenosti interkulturalne osjetljivosti ovih studenata s obzirom na njihove aktivnosti u slobodnom vremenu, ali i neke sociodemografske pokazatelje. U istraživanju sudjelovalo je 235 studenata. Istraživanje je provedeno putem online Google obrasca. Korišten je paket programa za obradu statističkih podataka Statistika 14.0 i Microsoft Excela. Rezultati su pokazali da studenti učiteljskih studija u Republici Hrvatskoj iskazuju iznadprosječno razvijenu interkulturalnu osjetljivost.Djelomično je potvrđeno da studenti učiteljskih studija u Republici Hrvatskoj iskazuju razlike u razvijenosti interkulturalne osjetljivosti s obzirom na sociodemografske čimbenike što se statistički moglo uočiti u odgovoru za završenu srednju školu.Nadalje,studenti učiteljskih studija u Republici Hrvatskoj djelomično iskazuju razlike u razvijenosti interkulturalne osjetljivosti s obzirom na aktivnosti kojima se bave u svoje slobodno vrijeme. Pokazalo se da postoji statistički značajna razlika u razvijenosti interkulturalne osjetljivosti s obzirom na aktivnosti u slobodnom vremenu. When we are talking about free time, we are talking about time that is left after a primary needs in their own way acording to their interests. In order for teachers to achieve quality relationships with pupils or other people who are characterized by another culture it is important for them to develop intercultural competence. The objective of this research was to question level of development when it comes to intercultural sensitivity of students of Faculty of Teacher Education in Croatia, namely the existance of differences in development of intercultural sensitivity based on student's free time activities and some sociodemographic indicators. In this research participated 235 students. The research was done online with Google forms. The collected data was procesed by a program for processing statistical data Statistika 14.0 and Microsoft Excel. The results showed that the students are above average when it comes to intercultural sensitivity. Partly confirmed is that the students express differences in development of intercultural sensitivity due to sociodemographic indicators which we statistically can notice in answers regarding which highschool did they graduate from. In addition, students of Faculty of teacher education in Croatia expressed slight differences in development of intercultural sensitivity due to activities they take on in their free time. It has been shown that there is a significant difference in level of development of intercultural sensitivitiy based on the activities that students do in their free time.
