Tehnološki napredak i ubrzan način života dovodi do sve veće popularnosti online dating aplikacija, tj. aplikacija za upoznavanje partnera putem interneta. Pojedinci koji nemaju vremena ili ne žele upoznati nekoga na klasičan način, mogu to učiniti u nekoliko „klikova“ preko svog mobilnog uređaja. Aplikacije za upoznavanje partnera putem interneta koriste trenutnu međusobnu udaljenost korisnika u realnom vremenu. Drugim riječima, korisnicima se prikazuju profili drugih korisnika koji se nalaze u zadanom radijusu udaljenosti. Ukoliko se pojedincu osoba prikazana na slici (ne)sviđa, korisnik preko zaslona ekrana uz pomoć tipke za odabir (swipe right ili swipe left) iskazuje svoje dojmove o osobi. S obzirom da su aplikacije za upoznavanje partnera poput Tinder ili Badoo postale dio svakodnevnice mladih u potrazi za partnerima, važno je razmotriti motive korištenja navedenih aplikacija. Stoga je cilj ovog istraživanja bio ispitati motive korištenja dating aplikacija, zasebno razmatrajući spolne i dobne razlike u iskazanim motivima. U tu svrhu provedeno je online istraživanje preko SoSci Survey platforme, u periodu od sredine srpnja do sredine kolovoza 2021. godine. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 165 sudionika (135 žena i 30 muškaraca) prosječne dobi 26 godina. Pri utvrđivanju motiva korištenja dating aplikacija korišten je upitnik Tinder Motives Scale (TMS) (Timmermans i De Caluwé, 2017), prilagođen za potrebe ovog istraživanja. Riječ je ujedno i o prvoj primjeni i validaciji spomenutog upitnika na hrvatskom uzorku odraslih osoba. Na temelju analiza spolnih i dobnih razlika u iskazanim motivima korištenja dating aplikacija dobiveni rezultati ukazuju na zastupljenost različitih motiva kod muškaraca i žena te mlađih i starijih korisnika dating aplikacija. Kod muškaraca nailazimo na izraženije motive seksualnog iskustva, putovanja i flertovanja, dok je kod žena izraženiji motiv znatiželja. Zatim, kod mlađih korisnika dating aplikacija utvrđeni su izraženiji motivi distrakcije i socijalizacije, a kod starijih korisnika motiv seksualnog iskustva. Općenito gledano, najistaknutiji motiv korištenja dating aplikacija kod sudionika ovog istraživanja je znatiželja. Ispitani su i odnosi motiva i ishoda korištenja dating aplikacija te je ustanovljeno da su motivi traženje veze i bivši partner ili partnerica pozitivno povezani sa ispitanim ishodima korištenja dating aplikacija. S druge strane, motiv znatiželje je negativno povezan sa susretima uživo, romantičnim vezama i seksualnim odnosima kao ishodima korištenja dating aplikacija. Također se pokazalo da korisnici s izraženijim motivom seksualnog iskustva izvještavaju o većem broju susreta uživo i seksualnih odnosa. Technological advances and accelerated lifestyle are leading to greater popularity of online applications for meeting partners, online dating apps. Individuals who do not have the time or just do not want to meet someone in the classic way, nowadays can meet someone with just a few "clicks" on their mobile phones. Online dating apps use users' current real-time distances from each other. In other words, users are shown profiles of other users that are within a given distance radius. Users choose their potential partners with swiping profiles. If user likes shown profile he swipes right or in another case swipes left for dislike. Given the fact that dating apps like Tinder or Badoo have become part of everyday life of young people, it is important to consider motives for using these apps. Hence, the aim of this study was to examine motives for using dating applications, separately assessing gender and age differences in the expressed motives. Therefore, an online survey was conducted through the SoSci Survey platform, in the period from mid-July to mid-August 2021. The study involved 165 participants (135 women and 30 men) with an average age of 26 years. In determining motives for using dating apps adapted version of the Tinder Motives Scale (TMS) questionnaire (Timmermans and De Caluwé, 2017) was used. This is also first application and validation of the TMS questionnaire on the Croatian sample of adults. Based on the analysis of sex and age differences in the expressed motives for using dating apps, the obtained results indicate presence of different motives in men and women as well as younger and older users of dating apps. When it comes to men, stronger motives of sexual experience, travel and flirting were found, while women are more likely to use dating apps because of curiosity. Then, in younger users stronger motives of distraction and socialization for using dating apps were determined. Further, older users are more likely to use dating apps for gaining sexual experience than younger users. In general, the strongest motive for using dating apps among participants in this research is curiosity. In addition, the relationships between motives and outcomes for using dating apps was examined. It was found that motives relationship seeking and ex were positively related with all listed outcomes of dating apps usage in this study. On the other hand, motive of curiosity is negatively associated with live encounters, romantic relationships, and sexual relationships. It has also been shown that users with stronger motive of sexual experience report more live encounters and sexual intercourses. |
