The graduate thesis presents the quantitative state of groundwater in the area of Međimurje based on the data from the measurement of groundwater levels in year 1997. The construction of hydroelectric power plants on the Drava River, Čakovec Hydroelectric Power Plant (1982), Varaždin Hydroelectric Power Plant (1975) and Dubrava Hydroelectric Power Plant (1989) changed the natural groundwater level regime and monitoring groundwater movements in this area has become a very important segment of water resource management. In addition, groundwater is important for the water supply of the population in this area so monitoring of quantitative status is also crucial for this reason. What is also imposed as one of the conclusions, also, the fluctuation of groundwater levels leads to the rinsing of the unsaturated part of the aquifer, which can increase its vulnerability to groundwater contamination. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the management of groundwater monitoring data during one hydrological year.
