The topic of this final paper was a simulation of step response of linear transformers with step source as excitation and resistor as load. First of all, a two-port network theory was briefly explained due to two-port being used as a simplified mathematical model of the transformer in the simulation. Next, the Matlab code which was executing the simulation was explained. As a result of the simulation the code was printing graphs of current and voltage of the two-port. The first task of analysis was to determine a simulation time which was determined over the greatest time constant of the systmes poles. The simulation time needs to be greater than the greatest time constant of the system so all transient events could be visible on graphs. After that the initial and the final values of voltages and currents of the two-port were calculated to determine if the resistance of the load affects the values of currents and voltages. The analysis was conducted for three different load resistance values. |
