Animals are very attached to children culture that literary animalistic texts, regardless for whom they are made, they almost automaticly classify it as childrens literature. Croatian children literature talks about Worl War II and Homeland war. The paper explores animal position and behaviour during war, animal relation with children and people during war times, spaces where animals move around and animal fear of war and humans. For corpus studies were selected addresses of Croatian children's literature that deal with World War II and the Homeland War. These novels are analyzed: Pirgo by Anđelka Martić, Bijeg u košari by Maja Gluščević, Alfi se vraća kući by Josip Laća and Kučak s Prevlake by Stijepo Mijović Kočan.
