Popis: Poremećaji spavanja mogu se podijeliti u četiri skupine: nesanice, parasomnije, hipersomnije i poremećaji cirkadijskog ritma. Nesanica podrazumijeva poteškoće s usnivanjem i održavanjem sna. Sleep disorders can be separated into four groups: insomnias, parasomnias, hypersomnias, and circadian rhythm disorders. Insomnia implies difficulties with falling asleep and staying asleep. Parasomnias are unpleasant, uncontrolled behaviors that happen during sleep. Hypersomnias are manifested as intense daytime sleepiness. Circadian rhythm disorders, which are becoming more common because of a modern way of life, are connected with the inability to fall asleep at the desired time. Common to these disorders is the disturbance of quantity and /or quality of sleep which, in a long run, can lead to neurological, metabolic, and immunological consequences for the organism. Because of that, it is extremely important to understand what leads to sleep disorders, how are they manifested and in which way can they be prevented or mitigated.
