Popis: | This paper reports the investigation of the ability of electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) for imaging two-dimensional (2D) moisture flows in cement-based materials. Additionally, this paper studies the effect of two linear difference imaging methods (globally and sequentially linearized difference approach) on the ECT reconstructions. In the experiments, mortar specimens were monitored with ECT during a 2D moisture ingress. The results demonstrate that ECT is able to detect the evolution of the moisture flow, and, moreover to approximate the shape and position of the water front. In all the test cases the sequentially linearized method performs better than the globally linearized method – not only better in accuracy of localizing the water front but also detecting smaller moisture content at the early stages of the water ingress. published version peerReviewed |
