The author presents the Finnish forestry cooperative Metsäliitto whose membersare more than 130,000 forest owners. With regard to the number of itsmembers and economic performance, the cooperative ranks among the largest ones in Europe. The cooperative Metsäliitto handles domestic wood procurementand acts as the holding enterprise in a group carrying the same name, while its subsidiaries are in charge of wood procurement abroad and of the production of selected wood and fibre based products. The author describes the corporate governance of the cooperative (meeting of representatives, administrative committee and the board; and regional councils), the advantages provided by the cooperative to its members, especially those relating to the members' business with the cooperative, and the capital formation (ordinary and additional shares). Avtor predstavlja finsko gozdarsko zadrugo Metsäliitto, v katero je včlanjenih več kot 130.000 gozdnih posestnikov. Po številu članov in gospodarskih kazalcih spada ta zadruga med največje v zadruge v Evropi. Zadruga Metsäliitto se ukvarja z nabavo domačega lesa in je hkrati krovno podjetje v istoimenski skupini, medtem ko njene hčerinske družbe nabavljajo les v tujini in predelujejo doma in v tujini odkupljen les v različne lesne izdelke, celulozo in papir.
