We constantly listen on news that current climate changes are mostly result of human careless use of natural resources and if we don't do something there will be nothing left for future generations. European Union therefore brings Directive with which is trying to regulate and keep energy consumption on lower levels. One of ways for achieving lower energy consumption is by building low energy buildings. Low energy buildings have low energy consumption thank's to simple shape of buildings, orientation to south, low-temperature heating system, well insulated buildings surface area, quality triple LOW-E glass and heat recovery ventilation. But because of this systems, low energy buildings are much more expensive than traditional buildings and this will be proved in further elaboration. Of course, we can't only observe financial side but also living comfort in low energy buildings, which is on high level. Because of advantages of low energy buildings, European Union and also Croatia are trying to bring citizens closer to possibility of building low energy buildings and performing energy renovation of buildings by co-financing. Case study for energy renovation of family home is made, in which are presented problems with getting co-financing for energy renovation. |
