This thesis deals with the legal acts which regulate diplomatic relations, in particular with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, whose codification and signing by most international community entities formalized rules relating to the contemporary conduct of diplomatic practice. The legal regulation of diplomatic immunities and privileges and cases of their abuse is particularly problematic. In this context, the thesis seeks to answer the question of whether the legal regulation of diplomatic immunities and privileges of contemporary diplomatic relations are in accordance with the need for amending or supplementing the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, whether there are mechanisms for sanctioning the abuse of diplomatic immunities and privileges and are they meeting the latest challenges in diplomatic practice.
