Popis: Bruksizam je nesvjesno struganje i škripanje zubima. Može biti izražen noću ili danju. Etiologija je nejasna, ali danas se zna da je uzrokovan mnogim faktorima, a među glavnima je psihološki stres. Klinička obilježja su različita. Pojavljuju se brusne fasete, abrazija, povećana mobilnost zubi, bolovi u žvačnim mišićima, temporomandibularnom zglobu, glavobolje. Danas je široko prihvaćeno terapijsko sredstvo za liječenje bruksizma okluzijska udlaga. Postoje i druga sredstva u terapiji, ali se rijetko primjenjuju. Bruxism is an unconscious grinding and crunching of teeth. It may be pronounced at night or during the daytime. The etiology of the term is unclear, but today it is known that it is caused by many factors, psychological stress being among the main factors. Its clinical features are various. These are as follows: tooth wear, abrasion, increased tooth mobility, pain of the masticatory muscles and temporomandibular joint, as well as headaches. The occlusal splint is a widely accepted therapeutic means utilised for the treatment of bruxism. There are other means utilised for the therapy, but they are rarely implemented
