Upotreba biljne droge Belamcandae chinensis rhizoma (she gan) u fitoterapiji

Popis: Cilj istraživanja Cilj ovog istraživanja je sustavni pregled spoznaja o biljnoj drogi Belamcandae chinensis rhizoma (she gan) koji može poslužiti magistrima farmacije te drugim stručnjacima u području biomedicine i zdravstva kao izvor informacija potrebnih za provođenje racionalne fitoterapije i poslovanja s proizvođačima biljaka i lijekova tradicionalne kineske medicine. Materijal i metode Upotrijebljene su tražilice Google i Google Scholar. Za istraživane teme pretražene su baze podataka, stručne knjige i važeći propisi. Rezultati Biljni materijal i standardi kvalitete su definirani prema europskoj farmakopeji (Ph. Eur.) i drugim stručnim izvorima. Prikazane su posebnosti vrste I. domestica - morfologija, stanište i suvremene taksonomske spoznaje. Sastavnice ekstrakata biljne droge Belamcandae chinensis rhizoma su sistematično prikazane, sukladno biogenetskom podrijetlu prirodnih spojeva. Opisani su biološki učinci i farmakokinetka. Tradicionalna upotreba droge je razmotrena prema sustavu tradicionalne kineske medicine, a suvremena sukladno medicinskim znanostima kad god je to moguće. Navedene su tipične aktualne recepture koje sadrže biljnu drogu Belamcandae chinensis rhizoma, ali i povijesni zapisi receptura. Zaključci Drogu Belamcandae chinensis rhizoma nije moguće na tržištu registrirati kao dodatak prehrani (NN 160/2013). Na europskom tržištu nisu pronađeni takvi pripravci, dok su na globalnom dostupni monopripravci droge američkih proizvođača u obliku ekstrakta, koji su nekad standardizirani na udio irisflorentina. Uobičajena doza droge u sustavu tradicionalne kineske medicine je šest do deset grama suhe droge pripravljene kao dekokt za indikacije poput upale grla i produktivnog kašlja. Droga je blago toksična te se ne preporuča kod trudnica. Objectives This study is a systemic review of subjects relating to the herbal drug Belamcanda chinensis rhizome (she gan). The review might be a useful guide for the pharmacists or the other health specialists on subjects of rational phytotherapy and the quality of the drug in order to ensure good supplying practice. Material and methods The Google and the Google Scholar search engines were used for the data collection. The research encompasses the facts from the professional and the scientific literature, as well as the active legal framework. Results The plant material and the quality standards are defined according to the European pharmacopoeia, accompanied by the facts from the other relevant sources. The specifics regarding the species I. domestica are described, the morphology, the habitat and the contemporary taxonomic stance. The compounds found in the extracts of the drug are given and categorized based on their biogenic origin. The pharmacokinetics and the biological activities of the herbal drug are discussed. The traditional use of the drug is described through the lens of the Traditional Chinese Medicine, while the contemporary use is described with the terminology of the medical science, whenever possible. The typical formulas are given, both the historical and the ones that are still being used. Conclusion The herbal drug Belamcandae chinensis rhizoma cannot be placed on the market in the form of the herbal supplement (NN 160/2013). No examples of supplements or drugs containing the herbal drug were found on the European market, meanwhile some supplements from American manufactures can be found on global market, these supplements are sometimes standardised on the content of irisflorentin. The usual dosage of the drug in TCM is between six and ten grams of dried plant material prepared as the decoction for the treatments of sore throat and cough with excess of phlegm. The drug is mildly toxic so it should not be used in pregnancy.
