Popis: The paper consists of two parts. In the first part the author briefly describes The Bozkurt Myth and The Ergenekon Myth that are the most important tales on ancient Turkic people. Both are of “founding” type as they describe the origins of Turks. The action of these tales takes place in mythical Ergenekon valley located in Eurasia. Bozkurt – the lonely, sacred Grey Wolf – is the significant character in the plot of above-mentioned myths. In the second part Musa Czachorowski’s short story The Grey Wolf is analysed. The Grey Wolf seems to be the first literary work in Polish literature that refers to the sacred Turkic symbol of Bozkurt. Czachorowski’s story deals in a symbolic way with some significant questions of humankind.
