This article sets out to show forms of address which are used in Polish and Spanish courtroom discourse, i. e. it analyses the sealed forms that are applied in order to communicate during trials. Similarities and differences related to the techniques of speaking to a judge, prosecutor, lawyer, witness, suspect or accused person are compared in both languages. The conclusions will permit to examine the role of these terms of address in the communicative process in the context of judicial proceedings. |
