The article looks for manifestations of iconicity in the avant-garde poetry represented by the group of OBERIU (Association of Real Art), and particularly in the works of one of its most charismatic member, Daniil Kharms. Based on two of his poems Van’ki-vstan’ki (I) and Van’ki-vstan’ki (II), the analysis emphasizes two kinds of iconicity as proposed by Winfried Nöth - imagic and phonetic. The point of reference for the analysis are features of the Russian toy to which the titles of these poems refer. |
