Popis: Pričujoče delo se ukvarja z integracijo in identiteto Romov v Sloveniji. Te velike skupine so poselile tri večja območja Slovenije: Gorenjsko, severovzhod in jugovzhod Slovenije in imajo danes status tradicionalno naseljenega prebivalstva. This work deals with the integration and identity of Roma people in Slovenia. Roma people settled in Slovenia in three large groups, which have been present in Slovenia since the seventeenth and eighteenths century. These large groups have been settled in three major areas in Slovenia: Gorenjska, northeast Slovenia and southeast Slovenia. Considering the assumption that Roma in northeast Slovenia are more integrated into the majority of population than Roma in southeast Slovenia, the thesis firstly deals with the reasons and factors that have contributed to better integration of Roma in northeast Slovenia. Furthermore, it deals with the identity of Roma people in Slovenia. It is assumed that Roma people in Slovenia have established specific identity which has been influenced by the environment as well as the acceptance by the local people. It is also assumed that identification, or better to say non-identification of Roma, is influenced by stereotypical images and prejudices, which are widely spread by Slovenian media. It is a preposition in this work that Roma people, because of fear of being discriminated based on stereotypes, purposely decided to hide their identities. Finally, the work also deals with the processes in the fields of education, employment, Roma language, Roma culture and living conditions that change and regulate the situation of Roma people in Slovenia. Research is based on theoretical references as well as interviewers with representative interlocutors.
