In 2021, during the first mowing in the field, near the settlement of Breg ob Savi, we carried out a field experiment that took place at two locations. In the first location, the experiment took place in the form of divided plots where we used three driving speeds when mowing with a disc mower, i.e. 4, 8 and 16 km/h. We measured fuel consumption in the process. The second attempt of the experiment was performed on a plot of non-rectangular shape with an obstacle. The mower settings and the PTO speed were the same throughout the entire experiment. We compared fuel consumption and lawn mowing quality as a function of mowing working speed. We also compared how the shape of the plot affects surface productivity and fuel consumption. We also recorded fuel consumption (l/h) on the way from the farm to the meadow and the mass of the crop (t/ha). Fuel consumption (l/h) increased with increasing mowing speed while fuel consumption per hectare decreased with increasing mowing speed. At higher driving speeds, surface productivity was also higher. The shape of the plot and the obstacle on it affects fuel consumption and surface productivity of mowing. The research has shown that the surface productivity of mowing is lower in the case of a plot, non-rectangular in shape, and vice versa: fuel consumption per hectare (l/ha) is increased. |
