Poseg v eno izmed najbolj intimnih sfer človeka, tj. telo nas navdaja z občutki groze, gnusa, žalosti, razočaranja in drugih negativnih čustev. Interference in one of the most intimate spheres of humans-body, gives us the feeling of horror, disgust, sadness, disappointment and other negative feelings. What only a person feels about whose sphere of dignity and intimacy, which is affected by the invader. Victim, without the help of experts and, most often, without his or her own family and friends, faces the consequences of the crime of sexual violence. It takes a lot of courage for a victim to report the criminal offense to the police. Shame, reintegration in criminal proceedings or the public image of the victim are the most common reasons why acts of sexual violence remain behind the walls of homes. Another reason why the perpetrator stay hidden is that procedures are complicated and offences are difficult to prove because of lack of evidence (mainly because of evidence that is erratic). Victim’s first contact with the police is the official complaint. The police is one who must take care for victim with the least painful and effective procedure as possible. The victim's first contact with the police plays a key role, as the victim must feel heard and we must do everything to limit stress of the event to a minimum. An educated, competent police officer can do this. |
