Popis: The circular economy has transitioned from a concept to a solution over the past decades. Increasing research, growing environmental problems, and rising concern for the environment and people’s well-being has resulted in an interest in discarding the traditional linear model of economy and adapting a more sustainable alternative which is the circular economy. The developing curiosity and intrigue about the circular economy and whether or not it is the answer to modern economic and environmental issue has produced an accumulation of research in this field and continues expanding continuously. Many businesses and people play their part in activities of circular economy. This thesis aims to contribute to the literature on circular economy by an analysis of the customers’ engagement with the circular economy practices by the means of a literature review to understand what circular economy is and what it encompasses. We will try to understand how companies and organizations can innovate their business models to incorporate circular economy and sustainability practices for generating value and discuss some design level competencies to promote and encourage green product consumption. In particular, we will discuss the fashion industry in the context of circular and sustainable economic growth and what companies and customers can do to make this industry less harmful for the environment while still producing profits. We will also discuss some factors which can hinder or promote the implementation of circular economy practices as observed in the literature including but not limited to the regulations or laws and the use of environmental labels by companies on their products. Another part of this thesis will be to understand the perception of customers about circular economy and whether they are willing to spend more money when it comes to preserving the environment. For this purpose, not only will there be an analysis of the literature but a survey will be conducted over people belonging to four different countries and findings will be reported after analysis to determine the customers’ willingness to engage in circular economy
