Popis: | International audience; A clear inspiration from the Pisan models seems to be evident in the Provençal productions of the 17th century. Many ceramics decorated in"slipware" or incised "a sgraffiato" under glaze are related to the repertoire of forms and ornaments of Tuscan worsshops in the early 17th century. A little everywherein Provence, this "fashion" undoubtedly, or perhaps, testifies of a transfer of know-how of craftsmen installed or passed by Moustiers. From this last major center of ceramic production came from the year 1620 and until the 18th century many potters who first create workshops in the valley of Huveaune, then in the Val de Durance and maritime Basse Provence. Their productions had a growing success and a strong and wide diffusion first regional, then Mediterranean and until the Americas. |
