Popis: | 27th Annual Meeting of the European-Strabismological-Association -- JUN 06-09, 2001 -- FLORENCE, ITALY WOS: 000181916200101 introduction: To investigate the positive prism test response was due to the presence of suppression scotoma or the absence of bifoveolar fixation. Methods: Fifty-one patients with esotropia and twenty-two orthotropic subjects with anisometropic amblyopia were examined. The prism test was performed by using prisms different strengths and positions. The patients were also evaluated by the Bagolini striated glasses. Results: All the patients with esotropia showed a positive prism test response. In all the patients with anisometropic amblyopia and orthotropia, the prism test response was negative. Conclusions: In patients with microtropia, the positive response does not change to normal by using prisms of different sizes and positions. This indicates there is not a fixation point scotoma in patients with microtropia. European Strabismol Assoc |
