A case report Drug poisonings are important cases of emergency services that are common usually require a serious approach and respond well to treatment. The neurological and cardiac side effects may be seen in acute and chronic carbamazepine intoxications. Side effects should be controlled as soon as possible. Thrombocytopenia is one of the complications of carbamazepine intoxications. Low thrombocyte counts has no need of treatment, however, treatment is required if there is a bleeding and/or very low counts. Treatment approaches are repeated doses of activated charcoal and early hemoperfusion in carbamazepine intoxications. We are presenting in this case, the complication of long-lasting thrombocytopenia in a 23-years-old male patient with high dose intoxication of carbamazepine.
