The export increases placed pressure on the country???s port logistics, and the Northern Arc, by which the ports located in the north of the country are collectively known, presents itself as a viable and competitive solution for soybean producers in part of Mato Grosso, the largest grain producing region. The vigorous growth of the exports using the Northern Arc???s deep-sea river ports, which grew from 1.9 million tons in 2010, to 11.4 million tons in 2019, requires inland waterway transportation (IWT) to reach them. There are few grain transport operators from the Transhipment Facilities (TF), where the grain changes it???s transport mode from road transportation to IWT, in order to reach the deep-sea river ports that export soybeans. The region of Miritituba / PA concentrates the largest amount of TF and ships the largest volumes of soybeans to these ports, responsible for 59.6% of all grains exported through these ports in 2019. The costs of IWT are not publicly disclosed, and the models available to determine the costs do not consider the peculiarities and characteristics of the Amazon Region. This paper aims to fill a gap regarding specific models to determine the costs of transporting soybeans in barges on the IWT of the Amazon Region, which were not found in research. This is a contemporary case study with quantitative data with application in the area of knowledge in Operational Research (OR) to develop a mathematical model for the simulation of discrete event systems, reflecting a cost analysis. The objectives are to develop a model adapted to the characteristics of IWT logistics in the Northern Arc, identify the main factors critical to success that impact on the costs of river logistics, and study the combinations and how the variables relate to the respective freight costs according to the size of barge tows and destination. Additionally, it allows the IWT system users to better understand the cost composition and to negotiate the best prices, increasing the competitiveness of Brazilian soybean exports. Desde 2013, o Brasil ?? o maior exportador global de soja, com volumes crescentes ao longo dos anos. O escoamento para exporta????o pressionou a log??stica portu??ria, e o Arco Norte, denomina????o dada aos portos localizados no Norte do pa??s, se apresenta como solu????o vi??vel e competitiva aos sojicultores de parte do Mato Grosso, maior regi??o produtora do gr??o no pa??s. O forte crescimento do escoamento de soja pelos portos fluviais de Longo Curso do Arco Norte, que passou de 1,9 milh??es de toneladas em 2010, para 11,4 milh??es de toneladas em 2019, necessita do transporte hidrovi??rio para alcan????-los. H?? poucas empresas operando no transporte aquavi??rio dos gr??os a partir das Esta????es de Transbordo de Cargas (ETC), onde troca do modal rodovi??rio para alcan??ar os portos fluviais de Longo Curso que exportam soja. A regi??o de Miritituba/PA concentra o maior n??mero de ETC e embarca os maiores volumes, sendo respons??vel por 59,6% de todos os gr??os exportados por estes portos em 2019. Os custos do transporte aquavi??rio n??o s??o divulgados, e os modelos dispon??veis para apurar estes custos n??o consideram as peculiaridades e caracter??sticas da Amaz??nia. Este trabalho pretende preencher uma lacuna quanto a modelos espec??ficos para apurar os custos de transportar soja em barca??as nas hidrovias da Amaz??nia, que n??o foram encontradas nas pesquisas realizadas. Trata-se de um estudo de caso contempor??neo com dados quantitativos com aplica????o na ??rea de conhecimento em Pesquisa Operacional, para desenvolvimento de modelagem matem??tica para simula????o de sistemas de eventos discretos, que representa uma an??lise de custos. Os objetivos s??o de desenvolver um modelo adaptado ??s caracter??sticas de transporte fluvial de soja a granel no Arco Norte, identificar os principais fatores cr??ticos ao sucesso que impactam nos custos da log??stica fluvial, e estudar as combina????es e como as vari??veis se relacionam com os custos de fretes por tamanho de comboio e destino. Adicionalmente, permitem usu??rios do transporte melhor compreender a composi????o dos custos e negociar melhores pre??os, aumentando a competitividade da soja brasileira exportada.
