Popis: | Five metabolism assays were performed to determine the metabolizable energy content (ME) of soybean oil, coconut oil, tilapia viscera oil, physical mixture of coconut and tilapia viscera oils (3:2, in kg:kg) and structured lipid prepared from the interesterification of tilapia viscera and coconut oils (3:2, in kg:kg), an assay to evaluate the effects of including these lipid sources on feed on performance, digestibility of diets, diarrhea incidence and intestinal morphometry of piglets at nursery phase. In each digestibility assay, 15 castrated male piglets at 50 days of age were used. The ME values were 8239, 8199, 8839, 8268 and 8523 kcal/kg DM for the soybean oil, coconut oil, tilapia viscera oil, physical mixture and structured lipid, respectively. In the performance assays, 90 piglets weaned at 23 days of age were distributed in a randomized block design, with 5 treatments and 6 replicates, considering the pen with three animals as an experimental unit. Piglets fed diet containing structured lipid presented higher daily weight gain, number of goblet cells of the duodenum and absorptive area of the jejunum (P |
