In this perspective, the following problem was formulated: ?How the insertion of the Federal Institute of the Amap? will contribute for the development of the city of Laranjal do Jari??. For in such a way, the documents, laws and decrees related to the subject, bibliographical survey relative to the regional characterization had been carried through consultations, collected informations concerning the participation of the population in audience and considered the results of the interviews carried with opinion leaders of the city. Results showed an indication of technical courses related to the extraction of forest products, such as the Brazil nut. Another indication with respect to technical courses to directed the environment, with the objective to contribute to the reversal of the main environmental problem of the city, the river pollution. Actions are recommended to the head of the Federal Institute of Amap?, on the Campus Laranjal do Jari, as the development of environmental projects by IFAP, during the training of students and the anticipation of the Technical Course in Forest and High Course in Environmental Management offered by IFAP, which had request by the segments investigated Esta disserta??o trata da import?ncia da inser??o do Instituto Federal de Educa??o, Ci?ncia e Tecnologia do Amap?, Campus Laranjal do Jari, utilizando a metodologia sugerida no Projeto de Estudo/Pesquisa para a Inser??o dos Institutos Federais no Desenvolvimento Local. Nessa perspectiva, foi formulado o seguinte problema: ?Como a inser??o do Instituto Federal do Amap? contribuir? para o desenvolvimento do munic?pio de Laranjal do Jari??. Foram realizadas consultas a documentos, leis e decretos relacionados ao tema, levantamento bibliogr?fico relativos ? caracteriza??o regional, coletadas informa??es acerca da participa??o da popula??o em audi?ncia p?blica e considerados os resultados das entrevistas realizadas com formadores de opini?o do munic?pio. Os resultados apontaram para a indica??o de cursos t?cnicos relacionados ao extrativismo de produtos florestais, como a castanha-do-brasil. Outra indica??o diz respeito aos cursos t?cnicos voltados ao meio ambiente, com o objetivo de colaborar para a revers?o do principal problema ambiental do munic?pio, a polui??o do rio. Recomendam-se a??es ao dirigente do Instituto Federal do Amap?, no Campus Laranjal do Jari, como a elabora??o de projetos ambientais pelo IFAP, durante o processo de forma??o dos alunos e a antecipa??o do Curso T?cnico em Floresta e do Curso Superior em Gest?o Ambiental oferecidos pelo IFAP, devido solicita??o dos segmentos investigados
