Popis: This paper presents data about level of decay, natural durability and susceptibility to wood-rotting fungi and termites in half-buried heartwood stakes of 46 Amazon wood species exposed for more than 8 and 10 years. Andira parviflora Ducke, Buchenavia oxycarpa Eichler, Clarisia racemosa Ruiz et Pavon, Dinizia excelsa Ducke, Dipteryx odorata (Aubl.) Willd., D. polyphylla (Ducke) Hub., Enterolobium schomburgkii Benth, Eperua sp, Eschweleira sagotiana Miers, Holopyxidium sp, Iryanthera sp, Licaria canela (Meissn.) Kostern., Licaria sp, Manilkara huberi (Ducke) Standl., Mezilaurus itauba (Meissn.) Taub. ex Mez., Mezilaurus sp, Nectandra rubra (Mez.) C.K. Allen, Ocotea cymbarum H.B.K., Peltogyne cantigae Ducke, Piptadenia suaveolens Miq., Protium tenuifolium Engl. and Swartzia ingaefolia Ducke showed to be highly resistant; Anacardium giganteum Hanc ex Engl., Couratari guianensis Aublet, Jacaranda copaia Aublet, Parkia multijuga Benth, Parkia sp and Vochysia maxima Ducke were considered to be not resistant.
