Library mediations to face fake news: a study at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Goiano - Campos Belos (GO)

This research aims at investigating in which ways mediations carried out by the library of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Goi?s - Campos campus Belos (GO) with the students of this Institute can contribute to the construction of a critical attitude towards the news that circulates, specifically in relation to identifying and consuming fake news. The methodological path was constituted by means of action-research techniques, which have their social character when integrating researcher and researched in an empirical and interventional way, in the problem, to reflect and improve social and educational practices. The research was developed with ten students frequent visitors at the library of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology - Campus Campos Belos (GO), where 4 (four) mediation meetings took place. Data analysis had an interpretive nature and was based on the theoretical basis of the research, which discusses the concepts of truth, information, fraud and criticism. Upon this theoretical context, I value this research from the perspective that defends education as a primary factor in stimulating mediations and the use of technological resources for the development of critical literacies. I was able to conclude that the mediations caused the students to develop their critical literacy. Another relevant conclusion to be pointed out is the importance of the library as an active education site at school which can contribute to the construction of knowledge. As fake news ganham terreno f?rtil, em especial, com as m?dias sociais que acabam por afetar negativamente diversos setores da nossa sociedade O objetivo desta pesquisa ? investigar de que maneiras as media??es realizadas pela biblioteca do Instituto Federal de Educa??o, Ci?ncia e Tecnologia Goiano ? campus Campos Belos (GO) junto aos alunos desse Instituto podem contribuir para a constru??o de uma atitude cr?tica frente ?s not?cias que circulam, especificamente em rela??o ? identifica??o e ? recep??o de fake news. O caminho metodol?gico se constituiu por meio das t?cnicas de pesquisa-a??o, que tem seu cunho social ao integrar pesquisador e participantes de forma emp?rica e interventiva na problem?tica para refletir e melhorar as pr?ticas sociais e educacionais. A pesquisa contou com a participa??o de dez alunos frequentadores da biblioteca do Instituto Federal de Educa??o, Ci?ncia e Tecnologia do campus Campos Belos (GO), onde foram realizadas 4 (quatro) media??es. A an?lise dos dados gerados nas media??es teve cunho interpretativo, e foi fundamentada na base te?rica da pesquisa, que discute os conceitos de verdade, informa??o, fraude e cr?tica. Nesse contexto te?rico, busquei prezar esta pesquisa sob a vertente que defende a educa??o como fator primordial ao est?mulo de media??es e o uso dos recursos tecnol?gicos que visem a constru??o de um sujeito criticamente letrado. Pude concluir que os alunos apresentaram desenvolvimento cr?tico a partir das media??es realizadas para produ??o de dados. Outra conclus?o relevante a se pontuar ? a import?ncia da biblioteca como espa?o ativo de forma??o que tem informa??o e que pode contribuir para a constru??o de conhecimentos.
